Northern Air® Pro

Large HVLS fans for your facility

Northern Air® is our line of large HVLS fans. The ceiling fans create a slow and silent air movement. This effectively evens out temperature differences between floor and ceiling and reduces moisture and humidity levels.

As such, Northern Air® fans deliver energy savings, CO2 reductions and indoor climate improvements, wrapped in elegant Scandinavian design. The HVLS fans work perfectly in tandem with existing HVAC systems but can also be used as a stand-alone system.

Advantages

  • Creates massive air flow and comes with forward/reverse function
  • Ideal for rooms larger than 100 m2 w/ ceiling height of >3,5 m
  • Energy efficient & silent direct drive motor
  • Plug & Play installation
  • Easy integration into Building Management Systems
  • Reduces energy consumption and CO2 emissions via destratification (leveling out temp. differences)
  • Designed and manufactured in Denmark
  • Passed ‘Ball Safety Test’ according to DIN 18032-3

Airflow and Noise Level Data

Despite their significant air flow output, the Northern Air Pro HVLS fans operate quietly due to the advanced motor technology and air blade design that helps minimize noise. This makes them suitable for environments where noise control is essential.

Below are airflow efficiency and noise level graphs for the 3, 4, and 5 meter systems. The first graphs show air volume at different speed settings (RPM). And the noise level graphs show decibel (dB) readings at different speeds (RPM).

The Northern Air Pro productline performance has been CFD tested by the Danish Technological Institute in Copenhagen.

ENERGY SAVINGS, CO2 REDUCTIONS AND INCREASED COMFORT

From the land of wind turbines, the Northern Air® HVLS ceiling fan is climate friendly air movement and classic Scandinavian design all in one package.

Watch the HVLS fan in action!

A Northern Air® HVLS fan creates a slow and soundless air circulation, which efficiently equalises humidity and temperature between the floor and ceiling levels in a room.

With the associated control systems you can monitor your indoor climate – read more about our user-friendly control systems here.

Our primary customers often struggle with the indoor climate, which typically equals high energy spendings. The solution to their struggles is our HVLS fan – read more about it here.

The History of HVLS fans

What started as low-cost and effective way of cooling dairy cows has now become a billion-dollar industry focused on improving indoor environment and human comfort. Over the last 10 years the use of HVLS fans has exploded.

FROM COOLING COWS TO IMPROVING INDOOR AIR QUALITY

The market for HVLS fans started out in the United States as a low-cost way to achieve a cooling sensation among dairy cows in the late 90’s.

The use of these large HVLS fans expanded from the farming sector into large industrial and warehousing facilities, where it was now used to lower the temperature sensation for the benefit of people working in these facilities. Today, HVLS fans are still used to increase comfort in facilities but just as much to achieve energy savings by distributing air (and heat) more efficiently in a room.

Nordicco winter energy savings

WINTER – ENERGY SAVINGS

During colder months, the Northern Air® ceiling fan gently pushes the hot air trapped at the ceiling level down towards the comfort zone where it’s needed. This process is called destratification and ensures an even temperature and humidity across the building. The result is a better indoor climate, significantly reduced energy spend and lower CO2 emissions.

SUMMER - COMFORT COOLING

During the warmer months, the gentle breeze created by the Northern Air® helps lower the human temperature sensation by several degrees °C. This significantly reduces or entirely eliminates the need for air-conditioning all while raising overall human comfort levels. In buildings and rooms with existing mechanical ventilation or air-conditioning, the large ceiling fan helps reduce the load on these, thereby lowering the energy spend.
