The corona pandemic and the hidden virus threats made the employees at the FAYARD A/S shipyard nervous about eating and meeting in their canteen. The solution was our Northern Light® HVLS fan, because the fan moves the air in the canteen silently, slowly, and efficiently, and uses the built-in upward-illuminating UVC light to eliminate airborne viruses and bacteria when the air passes the air blades. The result is that FAYARD’s employees can now feel safe and secure in their canteen, because the fan removes virus threats.
The corona pandemic and the hidden virus threats as made the employees at FAYARD nervous about eating and meeting in the yard’s canteen. The fan’s technology is based on the integrated and upward-illuminating UVC lights, which eliminates airborne viruses and bacterias, when the air passes the blades. Now FAYARD’s employees can safely meet and eat in their canteen while the fan disinfects the air.
Despite the fact that FAYARD complied with all corona guidelines, many employees still chose to drop the visit to the canteen, and instead eat in their workplace. ”We emphasize that employees’ breaks must be a free space from the workplace, and therefore we had to actively do something so we could get them back to the canteen,” says Bjarne Olesen.
“As an employee at FAYARD, you have the opportunity to have food in the canteen in the morning, around lunch and again in the evening, but when the corona pandemic hit Denmark, the turnover in the canteen dropped significantly as the employees stayed away due to the hidden and airborne risk of infection.”
The canteen has an area of 350 square meters and can accommodate 210 employees. In connection with the corona pandemic, however, the number of seats has been cut down so that the authorities’ regulations are complied with, just as FAYARD has chosen to extend the opening hours of the canteen.
“In addition to lots of cleaning and rubbing alcohol, we wanted to do something more to make the employees feel safe. We have already installed Nordicco’s large HVLS fans, which create a more comfortable indoor climate in the canteen. It was therefore natural for us to also install their latest solution, which has integrated virus disinfectant in the air blades, in our fight against corona,” says HR manager at FAYARD, Tone Eidnes Andersen.
Our Northern Light® HVLS fan, which FAYARD has hung up in the canteen, can move vast amounts of air silently and efficiently. When the air passes the air blades, the built-in UVC lamps disinfect the air, so that the air in the canteen in a short time is free from the hidden and air-borne dangers of infection.
FAYARD’s canteen is the first canteen in Denmark to have used the Northern Light® HVLS fans in the fight against the airborne risk of infection.
