The municipality of Aalborg has a sustainability strategy that focuses on “Energy consumption must be reduced by means of energy efficiency improvements and energy savings.” Furthermore, in 2009 the municipality signed an agreement with the Danish Society for Nature Conservation to reduce their CO2 emissions by 2% per. year. Since then, they have reduced by an average of 2.5% annually.
At Aalborg Municipality, the technical department has a strong focus on running the daily operations as reasonably as possible.
