Lund Municipality has installed HVLS ceiling fans in several of its sports halls as a complement to the existing ventilation systems.
The installations were carried out in collaboration with the municipality’s external energy partner, Ventilationsförbättringar i Malmö AB, part of Instalco, and led by Contract Manager Martin Lekland.
The purpose of the installations is to improve air circulation in the halls and contribute to increased comfort for users and facility managers. All without making major modifications to the existing ventilation systems.
The HVLS ceiling fans, Northern Air Pro, contribute to more even air distribution and can improve the perceived temperature, particularly at floor level.
The solution is used as a practical complement to existing ventilation and can be adapted to both older and newer sports halls with different conditions.
Operation is monitored via Nordicco’s digital platform Northern Sky, providing the energy partner with insight into system performance and supporting ongoing operation.
The installations were completed in Q4 2025. They demonstrate how HVLS ceiling fans can be integrated as part of ventilation in small as well as large sports halls – with a focus on comfort, operation and flexibility.
The installations in Lund include three sports halls:
Across the halls, both users and facility staff report a more comfortable indoor climate following the installations.
